Who are we?

AlProtein is a fast-growing biotech startup that crafts better, greener, and healthier alternative protein solutions from microalgae and plants. We utilize protein extraction technology and artificial intelligence to produce customized ingredients to plant-based meat and cheese manufacturers in Europe and MENA.

We are proud to offer a dynamic and fast-paced work environment between Germany and Egypt, where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact with brightest talent from experienced scientists and engineers who are passionate about pushing the boundaries of protein science and technology. We are explorers, dreamers, and innovators, all different in our own ways but united by a singular desire to change the world for the better.

Role Summary

As part of AlProtein, the Bioprocess Engineer will be responsible for the design, testing, scaling and implementation of bioreactor processes including upstream cultivation and downstream process development for the protein purification. You will collaborate directly with engineering partners and consultants to develop conceptual process designs and to produce basic and detailed engineering deliverables for biomanufacturing facilities. Alongside this, you will contribute significantly to the development of techno-economic models and conduct trade-off analyzes crucial for pivotal design decisions.
