Role Summary

We are looking for a passionate and driven Junior IoT Engineer to join our team on-site. In this role, you will support the development, deployment, and maintenance of IoT systems that power AlProtein’s smart cultivation and production infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for a tech-savvy problem solver who wants to make an impact in the sustainable food tech space. 

This role is pivotal to advancing AlProtein’s mission of delivering cutting-edge, sustainable protein solutions. 

Hiring Basis: On-Site, Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Development:
    • Assist in the design and implementation of IoT systems for monitoring parameters such as temperature, salinity, light, pH, and nutrient levels.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work with R&D and Operations teams to gather technical requirements and implement sensor-based solutions.
  • System Maintenance:
    • Maintain and troubleshoot IoT hardware and firmware (ESP32, Raspberry Pi, etc.).
  • Data Management:
    • Support data acquisition, processing, and real-time visualization through dashboards and monitoring tools.
  • Testing & Integration:
    • Perform testing and validation for hardware components and communication protocols (MQTT, HTTP, LoRa).
  • System Optimization:
    • Contribute to optimizing system performance for scalability, security, and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • Technical Skills:
    • 2+ years of experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, ESP32).
    • Programming knowledge in Python, C/C++, or JavaScript.
    • Familiarity with MQTT, HTTP, or LoRa protocols.
    • Understanding of networking principles and edge-cloud architecture (preferred).
  • Tools & Platforms:
    • Exposure to AWS IoT, Azure IoT, GCP, or visualization tools such as Grafana and Power BI is a plus.
  • Mindset:
